Anchor Go West! IPA

This new IPA from Anchor Brewing combines the qualities of a citrus and flowery West Coast IPA with the malt flavors you would expect from an Anchor beer. This beer was “inspired by the California Gold rush that compelled thousands to Go West!”

Date Reviewed. January 21, 2016

Serving Size. 12oz.

Aroma. Citrus, tangerine, grapefruit, peach, a touch of pine. A little house earthy black pepper quality. Some biscuit.

Appearance. Clear, glowing orange hue with a frothy white head with excellent retention. Tons of lacing on the cup.

Flavor. Malty, not cloying ly sweet, black pepper-like and herbal bitterness.

Mouthfeel. Medium to full bodied, creamy, effervescent.

Overall. Go West! IPA takes elements of a West Coast IPA and brings an Anchor Brewing perspective to that style. It is citrusy-floral hop forward in the aroma with a malty, spicy, earthy finish in the flavor, which is reminiscent of other beers by Anchor Brewing.
