Photos from International IPA Day at Rosamunde

August 4, 2011 marked the first ever International IPA Day. This global celebration of IPA was the brainchild of Ashley Routson and Ryan A. Ross. To join in on the celebration in San Francisco I helped organize an event with Rosamunde Sausage Grill on Mission St.

The turn out for the event was fantastic. In addition to the other great craft beer, we enjoyed 8 IPAs on tap: Russian River Blind Pig, Bear Republic Racer 5, Ninkasi Total Domination IPA, Stone Ruination IPA, Ballast Point Big Eye IPA, Brasserie d’Achouffe Houblon Chouffe, and Ale Industries East Bay IPA. The Ale Industries IPA was a  special treat because IPA Day at Rosamunde was one of the first places to have this new beer available. It seemed to be the crowd favorite too because it sold out by about 6:30pm.

It was great time and a great opportunity to meet old friends and even make a few new friends. Special thanks to Josh Margolis, owner of Rosamunde, and Ruggy Joesten, of Yelp, for making this so successful on such short notice, only 10 days.

  1. Great pictures! I love taking photos of rows of beer taps too. It’s almost an obsession.

Looks like it was a great time–sure wish I had that kind of scene where I am.

  2. Jim says:

Amazing to see how celebrated the IPA is becoming… It is hands down my go to beer… Amazing to see all of the California breweries represented.

  3. Nice pics, and that looks like a great event, the idea of global celebration of IPA is just fantastic

  4. Enjoy reading about all the beers and beer stories this blog reports on. We are in the planning stages for a new brewery in Northeastern USA called Nor’easter Brewing Company LLC and our business plan is to grow to over 25,000BBL within 5 years.
The breweries and stories you report on, allow for much encouragement.
About to take the craft beer industry by storm!
